Originating in South America PINDO PALMS are now considered NATIVE to the Southeast US. Besides their unique SILVER BLUE foliage and long graceful curving leaf they bare an edible fruit which is quite tasty and often used for making jams, earning them the name “JELLY PALM”. They are both VERY COLD HARDY & DROUGHT TOLERANT, and should NOT be planted in wet poor draining soils. Their growth rate is 4 inches per year capping out at 25-30 FT.
